Free sheet music
My process for making this sheet music is to find a midi file that sounds most similar to what I want, then edit it with MidiNotate Composer to fix it and/or make it work for piano. A few of these songs I had to do from scratch because the existing midi was just completely bad, or didn't exist, but doing it this way takes a very long time so I avoid it if possible. Then I use CutePDF to print the sheet music to a pdf file.
I am still learning to sight-read sheet music, so I know how helpful it can be to have the notes labeled. I make a classic and labeled version of each sheet, as well as a midi version to listen to or edit for your own purposes. By the way, midi files sound much better in Quicktime than in Windows Media Player.
Right now I am working on a project to arrange my favorite music into sheet music and piano midi form.
My piano
I have a Kawai PN80 digital piano that is about 15 years old and isn't in production anymore. I love it and it has great sound, but I'd like to buy a more portable one when I have about $400 to spare. I'll probably get this Casio Privia because it has the full 88 weighted keys and pedals, and is bestselling on Amazon. My current one is pretty heavy because it's made out of a lot of wood. My parents got it for me when I was young, but I only actually started playing it recently. It is now one of my favorite hobbies.
