How I design and develop websites

Planning and design

The first stage of website design comes in determining all the features that will be required. Whether you want a blog with the ability to add comments and tags, a web store with shopping cart and the ability to accept credit cards, or a simple restaurant site with an interactive menu, anything is possible. Everything goes much smoother when things are planned out beforehand. Both customer and coder benefit greatly from this, as much fewer coding-hours are wasted, saving you money. Multiple mockups and design revisions ensure you get exactly the product you want.

Coding

The second stage is where the meat of the project is created. The code is written to power the website and create all the features. Writing clean, easily maintainable code is my top priority. This allows for future changes with minimal effort. Using modern web development technologies such as JQuery (Javascript), HTML5 and CSS3, you can be sure you're getting a modern website. I use a powerful and efficient back-end language called Python along with a robust web development framework called Django. This allows me to create from the most complex and database intensive websites to the most basic websites in the shortest amount of time.

Beta testing and maintenance

The last stage involves testing out all the features and working out bugs. This ensures you get a bug-free live website. After the site is free of bugs, it is launched. The last phase is maintenance, which consists of adding new content and/or features as necessary.
